Founder/Chief Executive Officer
Eric is a leading security specialist with a lifetime of experience as an entrepreneur. Eric has been the CEO since the inception of the company. He also serves as the National Sales Manager for the United States and heads International Sales. He is a strong believer in a hands on approach to business with emphasis on the customer and service. Following this model Avant-Garde has become widely known for being the industry’s best and largest secured entry provider.
Outside of the office Eric can be found spending time with his family at his home along the banks of the Ohio River separating Indiana from Kentucky. He loves all things tech, an avid boater, movie lover, and traveling.

Founder/Chief Financial Officer
Megan has a lifetime of successful experience in finance and as an entrepreneur. She develops internal campaigns for strategic direction, financial planning and analysis, customer service, logistics and accounting and controls. She also handles project contracts, general contractors and project documentation for local, state/province, federal governments and military projects.
In her downtime she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves getting lost in a good book and is a coffee enthusiast.
Kim has over 40 years experience in the construction and security industry. His work covers everything from in the field project management to sales and business development. He has a solution-based business methodology that is valued by customers small and large alike. His style of leadership has inspired his colleagues to rally around his vision of being the customer service leader in the industry. Kim’s professional legacy is at the core of the DNA Avant-Garde is made of. These values of hard work and excellence in customer service, integrity, teamwork and innovation Kim instilled in the company continues to consistently attract and retain top-notch talent and exceeds the expectations of a discerning customer base.
Inside Sales & Engineering Eastern United States
Bill is our Senior Estimator for the Eastern United States. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and brings that knowledge of security and management to his work. He collaborates closely with our clients to review project plans and to develop secured entry solutions for their facilities. He has excellent leadership skills developed through the various management roles he has had. You can always count on him for a laugh, and to complete the project mission. He prides himself on team leadership with an emphasis on the customer experience. When not at the office you can find him at home on the Ohio River, at a friends house, or at the hockey rink.
Inside Sales & Engineering Western United States
Jesse handles inside sales and engineering for the Western U.S. and customer software deployment and integration. He has 25 years experience in systems administration. He is passionate about customer care and in “thinking outside the box”. He firmly believes that where there is a will, a way can be found. His stance on work is simple: one should not approach work as a chore but instead find pleasure and fun in it. He carries multiple professional and field certifications. Including an Associate’s of Applied Sciences in Information and Technology with a specialty in Network Administration. He is an MCITP holding his A+, Net+. A graduate of Sullivan College of Technology and Design.
When out of the office he enjoys working around the house, spending time with grand kids, buildings cars, hanging with friends and music.
Karen is an Accounting Specialist who works with our management team to ensure accurate billing and payment processing. Karen has over 30 years of experience in accounting, database management, inventory, contracts, internal & external customer service & leadership. Karen has many years of training for leadership and customer service and will make sure that your experience with us is pleasant, positive and productive. Karen believes we have the best security entry team available and is confident in our willingness to go above and beyond to give you the best sales & service experience.
Karen enjoys camping, boating, reading, crafting, family time and is active in local government.
Chad is a bit of a jack of all trades and has a broad background. As a graduate of CCU, his personal beliefs and integrity are key in driving him everyday with each and every project and interaction. He emphasizes a model of fixing problems and providing solutions in a valuable and unique way secured entry control and security.
Jeremy is a technician with nearly a decade of experience in turnstiles and low voltage systems. Jeremy specializes in installation of secured entry products and other low voltage systems. He takes pride in making sure that work quality leaves a lasting impression. He also has a technical degree in machining. Jeremy loves traveling and enjoys spending time with family, landscaping and doing outdoor activities with his children.
Martin is a technician with almost a decade of experience in turnstiles and low voltage systems. He is an advocate of on the job training, seminars and trade shows to stay current on new technology and systems. He believes that providing customers leading products and services is a key to success. Working with company’s from small local organizations to the Fortune 100 he believes clear communication and attentiveness to customer needs are critical to customer success.
In his down time he enjoys spending time with his children and hanging out with friends and family.
Amara has over a decade of experience marketing and communications. She’s a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in technical writing. She’s passionate about helping people get the information they need to find the right product solution.
In her downtime Amara enjoys spending time with her family and taking her children hiking, boating, and snow tubing.
Jacob is a senior at the University of Louisville where he is pursuing a business degree with a focus in marketing. Jacob is dedicated to working with clients and his team to provide secured entry solutions which meet client’s needs while providing excellent customer service. He is especially well-versed in working with general contractors helping them determine product solutions for their construction projects.
Along with attending the University of Louisville, Jacob received his Associates in Arts from Jefferson Community Technical College. When out of the office, Jacob enjoys traveling, watching the Lakers, and spending time with his friends and family.
Ted has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Kentucky and is an avid basketball fan. He has over 10 years of experience working with heavy equipment, industrial tools and sales. When it comes to turnstile installation, Ted enjoys helping customers find solutions to ensure the safety of their guests and team members. He also enjoys the sense of appreciation from customers after they see how well the installed equipment works and meets their needs.
In his downtime Ted enjoys visiting historical museums, cooking, traveling, reading, boating, and listening to jazz music.
Regional Sales Director
John joined the team at Avant-Garde with 15 years experience in the turnstile industry. During his college years, John attended the University of North Carolina where he played soccer. Later he joined the team at Smarter Security, (one of our partner companies). John enjoys helping customers find the right turnkey solutions for their business. He appreciates having the ability to employ his industry knowledge to help his customers keep their guests and team members safe.
In his leisure time John can be found spending time with his family and children. He also likes getting outdoors, especially if the outing involves hunting, fishing, or golfing.
